Kunzler Consulting Services, Inc. (“Kunzler Consulting”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides outsourced trucking fleet compliance and licensing services. This policy explains what information we collect through kunzlerconsulting.com and in the course of providing our services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
You can use most of this website without telling us anything about yourself. You give us information when you choose to contact us. Specifically:
- Our contact form asks for your name and email address, which are required, and your phone number, company name and a description of what you need filed. That message is emailed to us and stored in the website’s records.
- Booking a consultation. The “Request a Free Consultation” button opens a Google Calendar appointment scheduler. If you book, the name, email address and any notes you enter go to Google and to us. That scheduler does not load at all unless you click the button.
- Calling, faxing or emailing us directly, in which case we hold whatever you choose to send.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, this one records some technical information when you visit. That includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the site or search that referred you. We use two tools for this:
- Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies to measure how the site is used. It reports to us in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
- Jetpack Stats, provided by Automattic, the company that hosts this website on WordPress.com.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs for security and reliability purposes.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them for analytics, for spam filtering on the contact form, and for basic site functionality. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting or ad networks on this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop you from using the site or contacting us. You can also install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on if you would rather Google Analytics did not measure your visit anywhere on the web.
Third party services this website uses
We keep the number of third parties small. The ones that receive data when you use this site are:
- Automattic (WordPress.com and Jetpack), which hosts the site, serves its images, filters spam through Akismet, and provides visitor statistics.
- Google, for Google Analytics, for the appointment scheduler if you open it, and for Google Fonts, which loads the site’s typefaces and in doing so receives your IP address.
Each of these companies handles that data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell data to any of them and they are not permitted to use it to advertise to you on our behalf.
Information you share with us as a client
Providing compliance and licensing services means handling business information about your fleet. Depending on the filing, that can include your company details and federal identification numbers, USDOT and motor carrier numbers, vehicle identification numbers and weights, mileage records by jurisdiction, and the credentials needed to file on your behalf.
We use that information for one purpose: performing the filings and registrations you have engaged us to perform. Doing that necessarily involves submitting information to the relevant state and federal agencies, which is the entire point of the service. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not share it with anyone other than those agencies and the systems required to complete your filings, unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
How we use information
- To answer your inquiry and give you a quote
- To perform the compliance and licensing services you have engaged us for
- To keep records required by law, by our own professional obligations, or to support a filing later
- To operate, secure and improve this website
- To send service-related communications about work we are doing for you
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade contact lists. We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not send marketing emails to people who simply filled in the contact form to ask a question.
When we share information
We share information only in these situations:
- With government agencies, where submitting it is how the service gets done, for example filing an IFTA return or an IRP application.
- With service providers who operate parts of our business or website under our instructions, such as our hosting provider.
- Where the law requires it, including a valid legal request, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our clients, or the public.
- In connection with a business transfer, if the business or its assets are ever sold or reorganized, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.
How long we keep information
Inquiries that do not become client work are kept only as long as they are useful for following up. Client records are kept for as long as we provide services to you and afterwards for the period required by the tax, licensing and record-keeping rules that apply to the filings concerned. Some of those rules set retention periods of several years, and where they do, they take priority over a request to delete.
How we protect information
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to client records is limited to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the confidentiality of fleet and business information seriously because that is the nature of the work.
Please do not send sensitive information such as full social security numbers through the website contact form. Call us and we will tell you the right way to send it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. Where deletion would conflict with a legal record-keeping obligation, we will tell you that and explain what we are required to keep and for how long.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, including in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and Virginia. Those can include the right to know what is collected, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no common standard for how sites should respond to it, so this site does not currently respond to those signals. The cookie controls described above remain available to you.
Children
This is a business to business service. The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
This site links to government agency websites and other third party resources. We do not control those sites and this policy does not cover them. Read their own privacy policies before giving them information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected here, so it is worth checking this page if you have not read it in a while.
